Below is an Exclusive Interview with the Man himself! Hes such an amazing guy for being able to find time in his busy schedule to answer some of my questions

JAMZ : Tell me more about your latest track ‘Just One Night feat. Tiffany Johnston’

JOOP : I came across Tiffany trough Twitter about a year ago, she sent me a message back then and we came in contact. I was curious to hear her voice and asked if she had any demo’s for me to hear. She told me that what she had probably was not my cup of tea. So I told her not to worry about that. She sent me a few videos of her where she is relaxing on a sofa with a mic, the music starts to play and what I heard next was amazing! This beautiful voice on strong hard metal/rock music. It was very clear to me that I wanted to do something with Tiffany. So within the next weeks she sent some kick ass vocals for ‘Just One Night’. The rest is history ;)

JAMZ : What DAW do you use to Produce Music?

JOOP : Logic and Cubase, but in this case Logic.

JAMZ : Did you make use of any special techniques or plug-in’s while making ‘Just One Night’?

JOOP : I don’t know if it’s a special technique, but I have a way of doing things with sounds or with the use of VST’s. I like to layer more sounds and create fx that are not in your standard folders. Most of the guys I know that produce do this different from what I do. I guess everybody has his own way. So to give that the name special, I don’t know. It’s just the way I work.

JAMZ : What was it like to Collaborate with Tiffany Johnston?

JOOP : Tiffany is a very dedicated artist to work with, she knows what she wants and is a real big self critic, when I hear something that sounds very cool she will try to do it even better. This is the 3^rd time I work with female vocalists and I must say I was lucky with all 3 of them. But Tiffany is definitely is a very nice and easy person to work with.

JAMZ : What are the biggest gigs you have done so far?

JOOP : I have to go back in my mind a bit for that, Few monts ago there was this pretty big show in Denver, USA called The Gathering, this was freaking cool! I also did 7 Trance Energy’s that were big. Mainstage can hold up to 25.000 people. And I played numerous of times on the main stage during this event. Also I did a couple of Love parade’s in Berlin. If someone asked me about my most precious memories that would be in the top 5 for sure! Getting on the square and playing for 250.000 people is insane! For the rest I did some very big shows in Poland at Sunrise and other indoor events as well. Played at the Olympic stadium in Sydney Australia was also a very good show! I had my own solo gig in Lebanon at Forum the Beirut few years ago, that was build for 15.000. That is what pops in mind at this moment, so I am a very lucky guy that I can live my dream. If I read this myself while writing this, I had some awesome moments in life!

JAMZ : What does your DJ setup look like?

JOOP : 2 Pioneer CDJ-MK3’s and a Pioneer DJM 800 mixer, I also still have the 2 Technics 1200’s set up.

JAMZ : What’s your favorite country or venue?

JOOP : I have a few actually but I will name three for now.

Three of my favorite countries would be China, USA and Australia. I did a few times a tour in China and I think it’s one of the most beautiful countries in the world. I just love the culture and it’s food (although I needed to get use to it first) The United States Of America is for sure in my heart, not only because I have some very good friends out there, but also all the different cities I visit while dj-ing. San Francisco, Denver and Los Angeles I Just love! O and the burgers☺ Australia the same thing, I was lucky to be there a few times now. That country has it all! I enjoyed it so much!

JAMZ : Recently Paul van Dyk, Cosmic Gate and Armin van Buuren had gigs in my country. We love Trance Music Here. Do you plan on visiting South Africa soon?

JOOP : I know that you guys are totally into the EDM scene! I never been to South Africa, I wished I would because then I could add an extra favorite country to my list. A few of my good dj buddy have been there and told me it was amazing! The wild life and the nature were stunning! And of course the dj gigs were tremendous as well;) But I hope to be there one day so I can experience it myself!

JOOP has been around for a while since he won the ID&T Talent Award in 2001. Being the producer of the official anthem forTrance Energy in 2007 he has been touring the world. Becoming a dad settled him down for a little while but now he is back with releases like Rocket Double, PLUR, Focus and now Just One Night. He loves producing but his real passion is at entertaining the crowd. As his fans will state: JOOP is pure energy and he knows what the people want to hear.

Just One Night will be released on June 11th at High Contrast and will be exclusively available on Beatport until June 25th and from then on as well on all other portals like Spotify, Dance-tunes, Audiojelly and iTunes. The track is released with a club and a radio edit.
