Sharam - Night & Day Review

Sharam - Night & Day Out Now

Sharam does it Again! Hes created a Mix Album thats just as hot as his previous Global Underground Albums. And also once again created a mix thats fresh and stands out from the rest of the Monotonous House Albums out there.

Heres a reveiw of the album I got from Somewhere on the Web. Make sure you get this!

The name Sharam might not be too familiar with some people, but for most it is a name that just exemplifies the skills and talent that resides within the music industry. You may know him as part of the legendary french duo Deep Dish which have brought hits such as ‘Flashdance‘ and ‘Say Hello‘. Well, today Sharam has released his first solo mix compilation in 5 years with the 2-disc Night & Day off of Yoshitoshi Records.
Sharam has had world-wide success with massive tracks such as ‘Crazi,’ ‘Texi,’ and ‘Don’t Say A Word‘ while scoring Top 20 international hits with ‘PATT (Party All The Time)’ with Diddy and ‘She Came Along‘ with Kid Cudi.Along that, he has released two massive tracks off of his March EP with the underground sensationM.I.T.T.‘ featuring the beautiful voice of Shakira and ‘Fun‘ which was written by Chris Martin of Coldplay.

With Sharam’s new mix compilation Night & Day, he has taken the notion that the party doesn’t end while combining it with his music. Within that mentality, he also notes that people want to listen to different music during different times, which is why he has mixed each disc completely different. He states:
With Night & Day my aim was twofold: represent each type of party and its musical players (the artists, producers and remixers) and showcase what I do when I play this type of set to not only represent good music as I see it, but also to create a dialogue that music should not be played based on one’s allegiance to a genre, but based on one’s allegiance to the art form. The art of DJing for me hasalways been about creating a “party” and entertaining while educating the crowd with one goal in mind. People leaving with smiles on their faces… I hope that I’ve achieved that with this CD
The first CD I am going to start out with is Night. This album makes you feel like you are at one of Sharam’s dance parties in Ibiza or Brazil. A wonderful combination of dance, electro, techno, and even some dub mix in keep your eardrums on a wonderful journey the entire way through. With a number of uptempo mixes and some insanely incredible mashups including one of Monstar ‘Kilo‘ combined with the Dirty South remix of Miike Snow‘s ‘Devil’s Work‘ you never know what to expect would be coming up next. The album features tracks from Mat Zo & Arty, Zeds Dead, Heren, Tom Hangs feat. Shermanology and DYNO. This album keeps the enery levels high and your in a constant movement.

The next album, Day, takes an entirely different turn of pace. If you have ever been to one of Sharam’s daytime pool parties, you know that while the sun is shinning and you are dancing by the water, you want a different experience than from when you are dancing in the club. In Day, Sharam gives a more chill, laidback but fun and energetic mix to make you feel that the sun is shinning right on you when you are listening. First time I heard this mix, I was sitting at my work desk, but I swear I thought I was outside in my boardshorts dancing on the waters edge. Opening the mix with Martin Dawson feat. NRG’s track ‘Think About It‘ (Maceo Plex Remix) and continuing with tracks from Bart Skils, Stan Garac, John Lagora and Maetrik, this is the perfect mix to be blasting while driving in your car on a sunny day or when lounging by the pool.
All in all, this 2-disc mix is absolutely amazing. Covering both ends of the spectrums, Sharam gives you a feel for music whether the sun is shining or the moon is illuminating the night sky. I can guarantee this mix will be on constant repeat for me the next couple weeks. Night & Day was released today, so make sure that you go out and pick up your copy. Along with that, today is the beginning of Sharam’s On Tour with his performance at Space Ibiza. Check both the tracklisting and tour dates below to see if he is coming to a city near you.
